The Intellectual Property Agency BERIN awarded two young inventors - participants at the 38th International Fair of Innovation - Makinova 2017, held at the Boris Trajkovski Sports Hall - Skopje from 25-29 October 2017 and on which were presented inventions and papers presented from about 50 inventions in two ctegories - Makinova and Ekonova.
The winners of of this year's Young Inventor Award (that has been granted by BERIN for the last 20 years) are Rezad Huseni for the invention "CNC Plotter" and Bisera Lozanovska for "Pure water with the help of zeolite, fish bones and egg shells". The award consisted of Certificate and money, were given to them by prof. Dr. Gjorgji Filipov, founder of the Agency.
On that occasion, prof. Filipov congratulated the awarded and briefly addressed the importance of the Association of Inventors (SPATUM) and the National Technique of Macedonia for the development of the interest in the technique and innovations among young people. Filipov stressed BERIN's contribution in promoting the findings of young people in the country and said he would continue with greater intensity.
Jasmina Davitkovska took part in the work of the Commission for assessment of inventions, as a representative of Beryn.

The EPI Council, 87th in a row, was held on November 22 and 23, 2019 in Lisbon, Portugal. About 150 representatives from a total of 12,500 European Patent Attorneys participated, including Marija Kjoseska Ilievska, Head of TM and ID department in BERIN LTD and Bogoljub Ilievski, Head of patent department in BERIN LTD as one of the four delegates from MK.
The seminar under the name “Forum shopping and European patent infringement litigation in a UPC environment, preceded by the work of the Council. The Chairman and Vice-Presidents of EPI, the Secretary General, the Internal Auditors, the Finance Committee, the treasury secretary and other committees were submitted and adopted reports. Furthermore, lively discussion about new proposed budget plan for 2020 as well about new proposed IP Commercialization committee within epi followed.
The said new committee will look into the issues considering IP Valuation and Monetarization, Portfolio optimization, Assignment of IP rights as well Licensing matters. Still, the main event in this Council was presentation given by the EPO president Mr Antonio Campinos concerning EPO strategic plan 2023.
Mr. Campinos additionally was open to discuss and answer the questions from epi delegates mostly dedicated to status of the new measures concerning improving of the quality management system in the EPO.
The debates continued at the participants' dinner, followed by folklore songs and dance performances from Portugal, Berin's representatives did not miss the opportunity to solidify old friendships and business ties and to open up new ones.

Representatives of the Berin Agency, Mr. Bogoljub Ilievski and Ms. Kristina Cachoska participated in the seminar on "Patent Information and Databases" organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization and the State Office of Industrial Property Hotel - Stone Bridge in Skopje on December 3rd 2019
Presentations were made by Ms. Silvia Trpkovska from WIPO Transition and Developed Countries Sector, Mr. Vipin Saroha from WIPO Global Infrastructure Sector as well as a Hungarian expert and patent advisor, Mr. Farkas Szabol.
The seminar, in addition to representatives from the national offices of Albania, Serbia, Montenegro and Bulgaria, was attended by a large number of industrial property rights advocates, inventors as well as state administration representatives who are part of the overall system for protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights. property.
The seminar participants exchanged experiences as well as best practices in the use of patent information and databases.

The 40th edition of Makinova, International Exhibition of Inventions, Innovations, New Technologies and Products, Technological Improvements, Industrial Design, Trademarks, Youth Researches and creative work and the 17th edition of Ekonova, International Exhibition of Innovations, Inventions and Ideas for promoting green innovation for improving the environment took place at the Museum of the City of Skopje last weekend, November 8th - 10th, 2019
BERIN LTD is a long-time supporter of this event, and encourages the young innovators to contribute to the development of science and industry. B.Eng.Kristina Chachovska from BERIN’s patent department participated in a work of the grand jury for selection of the best innovations from both exhibitions.
In addition, Berin awarded the following traditional awards:
-The most successful young participant of Makinova 2019 in the category of high school students - Orhan Bagashov from Tetovo, under the mentorship of Sabrie Alkin with the innovation "Bionic Hand", a robot hand made by assembling individual parts which are made with 3D printing that can function as a human hand, and whose application could be found in the field of medicine as well as in the world of computer games.
The most successful young participant of Ekonova 2019 in the category of high school students - Milanco Poposki from Prilep, under the mentorship of Professor Goran Mikulek, with the innovation "Bicycle safety vest", which gives a signal if the direction of movement is changed, actually it has the function of the turn signal in cars. This innovation can be applied in daily life, facilitate cycling and contribute to the safety of all traffic participants.
A particularly difficult task was to make a choice and decide who would be rewarded for their work. We are really positively surprised by the enthusiasm, creativity and hard work shown by the young participants, and we are especially pleased with the fact that they are finding a ways to materialize by themselves their brilliant ideas, proving the great potential we have in our country, which lies in youthful creativity.
We wish all Makinova and Ekonova participants much further successes, advancements, many more new ideas, realizations and to continue the journey they are already taking!

From the 8th to the 12th of October, 2019 at the Savоyen Hotel in Vienna the oficial part of the FICPI Traditional Annual Conference, named as the FICPI Open Forum-Vienna 2019, took place, and among 376 delegates two representatives from Berin took part.
Namely, the founder of Berin and general manager of Berin International GmbH-Vienna, Gjorgji Filipov as a delegate and the director of Berin doo-Skopje Vancho Damjanski as a guest, were part of this expert forum on which, lectures about the novelties in IP praxis and representation, were presented and interactive panels exchanged views on current issues by leading proffesional in the field about proceedings and litigations.
In addition, within the event, the FICPI officials have ppresented the plans of the organization and its role with the international IP protection system, as one of the most significant organizations representing the interests of professional attornies in this field.
The educational part of the forum was treating three general categories: Patents, Trademarks and IP Practice and Management running in simultanious sessions and active discussion between colleagues.
The official part of the event ended with a dinner for all participants in the central hall of the Hofburg Palace, while the following day participants took part in a historic excursion and attended a reception organized by the Austrian Chamber of Advocates held at the Natural History Museum of Vienna.
